on the importance of art:

I love artmaking, and I love that moment when I'm working with folks and they have a creative breakthrough and their eyes just light up! I believe making art, or being creative in some way, is an important thing for everyone to participate in, young and old. It helps us look at the world in different ways, exercise the part of our brain that explores options, and it connects us to the deep intuitive part of ourselves.
